6 reasons your breakouts
keep coming back

Most acne routines fail for one of these six reasons. Find yours.

01

You treat the spot, not the zone

A spot cream goes on the pimple you can see. The pores beside it are already clogging and will surface next week. Acne is a zone problem.

Serum drop — treat the zone, not the spot
THE FIX

The serum goes across the whole oily zone every night, not on individual spots.

02

You scrub

Scrubs abrade the surface and spread inflammation, and never touch the plug inside the pore. Oily skin that is scrubbed daily gets angrier, not clearer.

Face wash foam — cleanse without abrasion
THE FIX

Salicylic acid is oil-soluble: it dissolves into the pore and does the exfoliating for you.

03

Your face wash is too strong

The squeaky-clean feel means the barrier has been stripped. Skin reads that as damage and makes more oil to compensate — so you are shiny again by lunch.

Washing the face
THE FIX

A pH-balanced wash cleans thoroughly without the tight feel, twice a day.

04

You skip sunscreen

The spot lasts a week. The mark it leaves can last six months, and UV decides how dark it gets. Without SPF you are trading breakouts for pigmentation.

Applying sunscreen
THE FIX

An SPF 50 PA++++ aqua gel made for oily skin — light enough that you actually wear it.

05

You stack actives

A scrub, two acids, a clay mask and a retinoid in one week. The barrier gives up, skin gets oilier and more reactive, and every product gets blamed.

Salicylic acid — one active is enough
THE FIX

One active, 2% salicylic acid, in the wash and the serum. Nothing else while you start.

06

You quit at week two

A pore takes weeks to clog and weeks to clear. Judging a routine at day ten tells you nothing; most people see fewer new spots at week four to six.

Applying serum at night
THE FIX

Give it six weeks. The routine is priced so the three products last that long together.

The routine

How it fits into a day

Morning: wash, then sunscreen
AM
Wash, then sunscreen
A minute with the face wash, rinse, pat dry. Two finger-lengths of sunscreen across face and neck.
Night: wash, then serum
PM
Wash, then serum
Cleanse the same way. On dry skin, two to three drops of serum across the breakout-prone zone, then a light moisturiser.
Cleansing
WK 1–2
Ease in
Serum on alternate nights for the first two weeks, then nightly if skin is comfortable.
